Basket Party makes impact on community

On Nov. 20 at 6 p.m. Hallock Hall will be one big Thanksgiving Basket Party as FBC provides a free family meal, games and crafts, and a basket of food to take home for Thanksgiving for 50 families with children under 18.

"It’s a wonderful opportunity to connect with young families in our community. Through this event, I feel like we can make a difference in their lives, however small," Kelly Henderson said. "The families attending this event are usually not one of our regular friends who attend the Sunday Suppers. For some, this will be their first time at FBC and quite possibly, their only spiritual connection through the holiday season. We, as a church family, must be prepared to welcome them with open arms."

Donations are still needed for the Thanksgiving Basket Party. This year we are asking for canned sweet potatoes, instant scalloped potatoes, cake mix, chicken broth, instant mashed potatoes, frosting, Stove Top stuffing mix, canned pie filling, boxed pie crust mix, and whole berry cranberry sauce.
