Have you signed up for Converge weekend? Converge is a fun-filled weekend held March 15-17 with family and friends right here at FBC!

Guest speaker, Jay T. Smith, will lead two speaker sessions at Converge on the topic of The Church in a Brave New World. Jay also will speak during the LifeGroup hour at 9:15 a.m. on Sunday, March 17 as well as be our pulpit guest at 10:30 a.m.

On Saturday morning, March 16, following a breakfast at 8:00, Jay will lead the first speaker session titled Being the Church in a Brave New World.

"This session addresses what it means to be 'the church' in a rapidly changing world. The first half addresses how postmodern cultural and philosophical ideas, technology, and the breakdown of long-held modern assumptions have left the church, and its attendant organizations adrift on a sea of quantum change. The second half suggests how the church can 'retool' its mission and method in order to thrive," Jay said.

Jay's second session Saturday is titled Building ‘Community’ Around Your Church.

"This session addresses the fundamental ways in which the church must ground its mission and ministries in our culture of quantum change," Jay said.

Converge weekend will wrap up Sunday, March 17 with a speaker session from Jay at 9:15 a.m. titled Future Church — Learning from the Past, Forgoing the Superficial and Preparing for the Future. The session will address what the church might look like in the future.

Jay's sermon title on Sunday, March 17 is titled Just Keep Walking: Joshua, Jericho, and the Audacity of God!

Cost for Converge weekend is $110 per family or $45 each. To register or for more information, visit fbcnorman.org. The registration deadline is today!
