Community Ministry
Our mission in community ministry is no different than that of the rest of the church: to love people wherever they are and teach them to live as followers of Christ. Our ministry focus is loving people outside our local congregation by reaching out in different ways to people in Norman, often to people struggling with poverty or other significant challenges. We do this out of our own compassion, born in our hearts and lives through our own journeys with God, who has great compassion for those in need.

Bikes & Bibles
Ministry
This ministry has given out more than 1,000 bikes to people without transportation since it began. Volunteers work throughout the week to revive bikes so that those in need can receive one.
If you are in need of a bike, call
(405) 321-1753 to put your name on the waiting list.
Kids Hope Mentors
Our church partners with Lincoln Elementary by providing mentors for at-risk students. Volunteers work one-on-one with a student, meeting once a week for an hour. The mentors help the students academically, but also provide a caring relationship to help them socially and emotionally.
If you are interested in becoming a mentor, review the Volunteer Information Packet. Once you have decided to become a mentor, return the completed application and background check to the church office. Contact Angela with questions.
Other ministries at Lincoln Elementary include our annual Giving Tree, teacher appreciation meals, school supply assistance, and food donations for Hot Dog Howdy. Contact our Minister of Community Ministries if you would like to get involved with our ministries to the students, families, and teachers, or if you have ideas of other ways we can be of help.
In-Kind Donations
We accept food and gently used clothing donations. Current food and clothing needs are posted on the FBC Facebook page and at the church. For clothing donations, please call the church office prior to bringing to make sure we can accept the donation at that time. For our ongoing community ministry needs, please check out our Amazon Wishlist.
